Pack 283 had a great trip to Patriots Point to sleep overnight on the USS Yorktown. We also had a great time learning about flying F-22s in flight simulators, touring the USS Yorktown, the USS Laffey (WWII Destroyer) and the USS Camagore (WWII Submarine) and the Vietnam Memorial.
Four of the Webelos and one member of the Wolf den braved the threat of rain on Sunday to watch the 235th anniversary reenactment of the Battle of Guilford Courthouse. All five scouts lived to tell the tale.
The Webelos den met on Sunday to work on the Art Explosion adventure. The boys made an origami frog, sketched a self portrait, and made sculptures out of clay.
Webelos Scouts and Akelas toured the NC Museum of Art on Sunday. The Scouts learned about use of color in art.
The Wolves of Pack 283 braved the shores of Jordan Lake last weekend for a 2-mile hike. We saw trees cut down by beavers, picked up clam shells left on the shore after the recent rains and even found Finnegan's umbrella - from more than a year ago. Last but not least, Den Leader Dan shows the Scouts the finer points of photo-bombing. Good times were had by all.
Web1s: First scouts ready for bed; last ones to actually go to sleep.
The Scouts help pack more than 22,000 lunches created at the Stop Hunger Now event into the truck for delivery.
A great time was had by all as the members of Pack 283 took on Hanging Rock State Park. Skits were performed, s'mores were consumed and trails were conquered. A special thanks goes out to all those who brought dinner Saturday night and got up early to man the fires for breakfast Sunday morning.
